Monsters[]
Monsters give roughly 3× XP the first time you encounter them. The numbers are in ().
Higher level monsters sometimes give slightly more or less (± 10%) XP for unknown reasons. This can mean, that the numbers on first kills below (for example for the Xomboid) can be up to 100 XP off.
As you can see in the table below, the XP gap between normal and hard is about 20%. The XP gap between normal and insane is about 50%.
The ingame SotsDex displays XP-numbers, except for the very first versions of the game.
Character XP modifier[]
Different characters earn XP by a different rate. The amount of XP required to level stay the same, but the XP gained by successful actions and kills varies.

Inventory Objects[]
Experience for object use depends on difficulty % of the object. The numbers given are pretty inaccurate, because they vary with skills and tools used. They can only serve as examples.
World Objects[]
Experience for object use depends on difficulty % of the object. They give ~ 40-70 experience at first, ~20-50 later, even less on higher game difficulty (down to 7). The numbers given are pretty inaccurate, because they vary with skills and tools used. They can only serve as examples.
